Trump Sees a Small Improvement while Mike Pence Hits a New Low; Kamala Harris Continues Hot Streak; Oprah Closes in on Top 10

Donald Trump’s odds saw a small improvement this week with the payout declining from 3.45X to 3.42X.  That is his best showing since the beginning of September.  That is still well below his all time high when the payout was at only 2.41X the first week of January.

Mike Pence continues to be in second place but he took a big drop.  His payout increased from 9.2X to 9.8X, his lowest showing.  He reached his peak the last week of December at 8.0X.

Kamala Harris continued to be the hottest name, once again improving this time from 17.6X to 17.3X, a new high.  She is now comfortably in 4th place overall behind Warren and ahead of Sanders.

The hot name from last week was Oprah.  She moved up once again this time from 28.6X to 27.3X.  That was not enough to get her into the top 10 however, as she remained in 11th place.  Cory Booker is in 10th place, just ahead of her at 27.2X.

Trump’s Odds Steady Despite Tough Week; Oprah’s Odds Soar on Speculation; Kamala Harris Continues Hot Streak; John Delaney Moves out of Last Place

For the third straight week, Donald Trump’s odds remained flat at 3.45X.  This, despite what appeared to be a tough week that included NFL/Flag controversy, North Korea accusing US of declaring war , response to Puerto Rico crisis, a Repeal and Replace defeat, and Price controversy/resignation.  He continues to have higher odds than the next three opponents combined.

Oprah Winfrey was the biggest mover of the week after she made a debut as a special reporter on 60 minutes and after she thanked an author through Twitter who called her “Democrats’ best hope for 2020”. The speculation was enough to send her up from 28th place to 11th place.  Her payout decreased from 52.5X to just 28.6X.

Kamala Harris continued her hot streak as she reached another new high.  She remained in 4th place overall but her payout dropped from 17.8X to 17.6X.

John Delaney was the first candidate to officially throw his name in for 2020 a few months back. The MD Democrat has been working IA and NH hoping to get his name out there including this interview with CBS. His payout improved from 201X to 176X.  That’s enough to move him out of last place and switch positions with Jill Stein for 64th place.

Trump Steady at the Top; Haley Continues to Increase Profile and Odds; Franken up as He Continues to Attack Cruz; Howard Schultz Rockets up the List

Donald Trump’s odds have been steady the last three weeks after 7 weeks of declines.  Payout for putting money on Trump is exactly what it was last week at 3.45X.  His odds are nearly three times that the next competitor, his VP Mike Pence.

The UN met this week, which naturally raised Nikki Haley’s profile, as well as her odds.   Her payout improved to 46X from 47.5X.  That was enough to move her up from 25th place to 23rd place.

On the Democratic side, the big riser was Al Franken.  He was in Texas and was once again taking shots at Ted Cruz and denying he would run in 2020. His payout improved to 54.5X from 59X.  This is the lowest payout/highest odds he has had.  He moved from 31st place to 29th place.

Every week, it seems a different non politician makes a move.  This week it was time for former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz.  He “sounds like a 2020 presidential candidate” according to the Washington Post.  His payout dropped from 96.5X to 63X.  That rocketed  him from 50th place to 33rd place.
