Trump’s Odds See Slight Decline After Hot Streak; Warren’s Odds Rebound; Biden’s Odds up on War of Words with Trump; Facebook News Hurts Zuckerberg’s Odds

After 15 straight weeks of improvement, Donald Trump’s odds took a break.  His payout increased from 2.77X to 2.79X.  These are still significantly better odds from the 3.29X he had before the start of the streak.  Trump has higher odds than the next four candidates combined.

Last week, Elizabeth Warren announced she is not running.  Her odds took a hit from 13.3X to 15.5X.   A week later, her odds rebounded to 13.4X which was enough for her to jump into 4th place.  She was in 3rd two weeks ago, ahead of Bernie Sanders.

Joe Biden hasn’t ruled out running in 2020 and this week engaged in a war of words with Trump. Could this be a preview of what is to come in 2020? Biden’s odds improved from 18.5X to 16.8X.  These are the top odds he has had this election cycle.

Controversy with Facebook and its handling of user privacy hit Mark Zuckerberg’s chances for 2020.  His odds moved from 27.7X to 31.0X.  These are his worst odds since May of 2017.

Pence’s Odds Drop as Trump’s Improve; Sanders Sees Big Jump; Castro Announces Interest in Running

For the second straight week, Mike Pence’s odds dropped.  This time the payout went from 12.0X to 12.5X.  That was another new low for the VP.  The change in odds was enough to drop him behind Elizabeth Warren and into 3rd place.

Pence’s drop once again helped Donald Trump.  His odds improved for the third week in a row as his payout moved from 3.06X to 3.04X, his best odds since 7/22.  His odds are now more than 4 times better than his next competitor: Elizabeth Warren.

Bernie Sanders had a big improvement in odds.  His payout moved from 16.3X to 14.7X.  That was not enough for him to move from his 5th place spot.  His recent activity on social media has many speculating on a run.

Julian Castro stated “I have every interest in running” for president, to NBC News.  Interestingly, he saw a drop in odds from a payout of 42.5X to 44.5X.  That was enough for him to slide from 18th place to 24th place.

Trump’s Odds Continue to Drift Up; Pence at a New Low; Warren Ends Downward Trend; Oprah up to 7th Place

Donald Trump’s odds improved for the 7th straight week.  His payout has decreased from 3.33X to 3.25X.  It was at 3.45X seven weeks ago.  These are Trump’s best odds since the middle of August.

The same can’t be said for Trump’s VP, Mike Pence.  Although he remains a solid 2nd place, his payout increased from 9.8X to 9.9X.  This is another new low for Pence, and he has been down 4 of the last 5 weeks.

Elizabeth Warren showed some signs of life this week.  Although she’s been the leading Democrat since the beginning of this election cycle, her odds had reach a new low last week with a payout of 11.9X. She had peaked several times at 9.7X.  This week she was able to reverse the recent negative trend and improved her odds as her payout fell to 11.7X, the best odds in four weeks.

One of the hotter names the last five weeks has been Oprah Winfrey.  She once again improved, this time from 25.6X to 24.9X. This was enough to have her jump into 7th place overall.  She was in 28th place just six weeks ago.
