Trump’s Odds Continue to Drift Up; Pence at a New Low; Warren Ends Downward Trend; Oprah up to 7th Place

Donald Trump’s odds improved for the 7th straight week.  His payout has decreased from 3.33X to 3.25X.  It was at 3.45X seven weeks ago.  These are Trump’s best odds since the middle of August.

The same can’t be said for Trump’s VP, Mike Pence.  Although he remains a solid 2nd place, his payout increased from 9.8X to 9.9X.  This is another new low for Pence, and he has been down 4 of the last 5 weeks.

Elizabeth Warren showed some signs of life this week.  Although she’s been the leading Democrat since the beginning of this election cycle, her odds had reach a new low last week with a payout of 11.9X. She had peaked several times at 9.7X.  This week she was able to reverse the recent negative trend and improved her odds as her payout fell to 11.7X, the best odds in four weeks.

One of the hotter names the last five weeks has been Oprah Winfrey.  She once again improved, this time from 25.6X to 24.9X. This was enough to have her jump into 7th place overall.  She was in 28th place just six weeks ago.

Trump Continues to Edge Higher; Sanders Strong After NH Poll; Clinton Improves Despite Saying She Will not Run; Franken up into Top 25

In what looks like a replay of the 2016 election, three of the larger improvements  this week were from Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, and Hillary Clinton.

Trump’s odds saw another improvement, this time with the payout dropping from last week’s 3.38X to this week’s 3.33X.  These are the best odds he has had in 9 weeks.

Bernie Sanders saw his odds improve to a new high as his payout dropped from 18.3X to 17.7X.  Although a new NH poll showed he is currently the favorite for the Democratic nomination from that state, he is  still behind Elizabeth Warren (11.9X) and Kamala Harris (16.4X) as far as odds for the nomination.

Hillary Clinton’s odd’s improved despite her saying she will not run again. The payout improved from 35.5X to 34.0X, her highest in 6 weeks. This moved her up one spot from 13th place to 12th place.

Al Franken had the biggest move for the week as his payout improved from 57.1X to 49.5X.  This was enough to move him from 30th place to 23rd place.  That is the highest he has been at this entire cycle.  Franken made news this week as he grilled Jeff Sessions in the Senate hearings.

Donald Trump Sees a Slight Improvement; Zuckerberg’s Odds Decline on Facebook Controversy; Oprah Rockets into Top 10; Haley Improves

For the second straight week Donald Trump saw a slight improvement in odds.  This week his payout decreased from 3.42X to 3.38X.  That is the best odds he has had in the last 7 weeks.

The controversy with Russia using Facebook might be impacting Mark Zuckerberg’s odds.  His payout increased this week from 23.8X to 24.5X.  His recent peak was at 23.3X five weeks ago.  He remains in 7th place overall, a place he has had the last ten weeks.

For the third straight week, Oprah remained one of the hottest candidates.  Her payout decreased from 27.3X to 24.8X as she moved from 11th place to 8th.  Just 4 weeks ago, her payout was at 52.5X and she was in 30th place.

Nikki Haley has been perhaps the one member of the administration without much controversy.  She has also increased her profile with North Korea and Iran at the top of the news. This week her payout decreased from 46.0X to 45.5X.  That was enough to move her from 24th place to 22nd.
