Little Change in Trump’s Odds; Sanders and Zuckerberg Continue to Improve; Ryan’s Odds Jump

For the 5th straight week, the payout for putting money on Trump remains at 3.0X.  At 20.6%, he continues to have the same odds as the next four competitors combined.

Bernie Sanders’ odds once again improved as he continues to increase his profile. He did so this week with appearances attacking the Senate healthcare bill.    For the second straight week he remains in 5th place with his payout once again dropping from last week’s 22.1X to 20.8X.  This is the lowest payout (highest odds) he has been at this election cycle.  Just 3 weeks ago he was at 23.6X.

Paul Ryan’s odds improved without much news behind it.  His payout dropped from 27.3X to 25.9X.  It had been in a range between 26.9X and 27.7X for 9 straight weeks.  He remains in 9th place, and third among the Republicans.

One of the hottest names continues to be Mark Zuckerberg.  This week, he visited Iowa, an important state politically for anyone running for President, as part of his tour of the US. Zuckerberg also made some news changing the mission of Facebook  His payout drops from 29.1X to 27.4X.  This a new high in this election cycle and he continues to be in 10th place.  Zuckerberg joined the odds in the middle of January in 50th place at a payout of 107.3X.

Trump Maintains Large Lead; Biden and Zuckerberg Continue to be Hot with Launch of PACs; Klobuchar Turns it Around

Donald’s Trump remained fairly flat as his probability saw a slight dip from 20.7% to 20.5%.  The payout remained at 3.0X, flat to last week.  He had a big drop two weeks ago with the announcement on a special counsel but then rebounded last week. He has similar probability as the next four candidates combined.

Joe Biden fueled speculation of a run by launching a PAC. This helped him keep his hot streak with his payout dropping from 21.5X to 20.9X.  That is the lowest payout (highest odds) he has been at.  He has improved over the last 8 weeks .  He began that stretch with a payout of 291X, and has moved from 9th place to the current 5th place.

Another hot name has been Mark Zuckerberg.  A new PAC (that he has nothing to do with) was formed with the goal of convincing the Facebook founder to  run. He moves into the the top 10 from 12th place.  He was in 16th place 5 weeks ago and in 50th place beginning of the year.  His payout has shrunk from over 100X at the beginning of the year to last week’s 32.7X and this week’s 28.9X.

Amy Klobuchar’s odds improved with her payout decreasing from 39.1X to 36.5X.  This was an improvement from her worst week as far as odds. Most think she will run in 2020, and that certainly fits with her spending some time in Iowa a few weeks ago. She is now in 16th place and has ranged between 12th place back in January and 19th place last week.

Updated Election Odds: Trump’s Odds see Small Decline; Clinton Drops after Last Week’s Bump While Biden Improves; Zuckerberg Continues Hot Streak

Donald Trump’s odds continued their slow decline, moving from 20.7% to 20.5%, his lowest since the election.  His payout increases from 3.0X to 3.1X.  He still has as much probability as the next four candidates.

Hillary Clinton lost her bump from last week when she “resurfaced” in the media. She drops to 6th place falling behind Cory Booker. Her payout increased from 22.0x to 22.8X, the highest payout (or lowest probability) since the beginning of January.

The drop with Clinton seemed to give another well known Democrat, Joe Biden, a bump.  He hops over Paul Ryan for 8th place.  His payout drops from 28.5X to 26.3X.  This is the lowest payout all year.

The hottest name continues to be Mark Zuckerberg.  He moves from 13th place to 11th place. His payout drops from 33.9X to 32.1X.   Zuckerberg has been up in 10 of the last 13 weeks. He continues to move up since he made his debut in January in 50th place at a payout of 107X.
