Updated Odds: Bush Finally up; Cuomo, Christie and Jindal Continue Downward Trend; Casrson, Sanders, Kasich up

Hillary Clinton continued to have a comfortable lead at 41.7%, flat to last week.

Jeb Bush continues to be in second but reversed a four week streak of declines improving from 11.0% to 11.2%. He increases his lead over Marco Rubio to 5.8%.

Many of the top candidates from a year ago who have not declared are now seeing big declines:

-Chris Christie who was the second leading candidate last May is now in 7th place and is down to 1.6% this week.

-Bobby Jindal got as high as 9th place but has failed to gain any traction and is now down to 18th place this week at 0.8%.

-Andrew Cuomo got as high as 9th place and was in 12th place just 4 weeks ago.  He comes in this week at 31st place at just 0.7%.

On the other hand, candidates that were considered long shots and have thrown their name in have  moved up dramatically:

-Ben Carson announced this week and he jumped from 22nd place to 17th place.  He was as low as 45th place last summer.

– Bernie Sanders who announced the prior week and as a result debuted at 42nd place improved to 27th place this week.

– John Kasich seems to be the next person to declare.  He has now moved up into 9th place after being in 34th place just three weeks ago.

Updated Odds: Kasich’s Odds Soar as He Jumps into Top 10. Sanders Enters Race. Clinton Continues to Improve. Rubio Gaining on Bush.

The trend for the top candidates remained the same as last week:

Hillary Clinton’s odds improved once again now to 41.7% up 0.3% as it’s becoming less and less likely that she will face any real challenge for the nomination. This is the highest she has been since August.

Jeb Bush continues to be in second but is losing his lead.  He has declined for four straight weeks and is currently at 11.0%.

Bush’s loss is Rubio’s gain.  Rubio has improved the last 3 weeks and is now in 3rd at 5.4%.  He has closed the gap with Bush from 7.6% to 5.6%.

The biggest mover of the week was John Kasich, as he starts making noise about the possibility of running.  He improves from 0.8% last week to 1.3% this week.  Over the last two weeks he has improved from 34th place to 10th place.

Elizabeth Warren and Chris Christie continue their free fall in odds but maintain their positions in the top 10.  Elizabeth Warren has declined the last five weeks and is now at 2.1%.  She is still in 6th place.  Chris Christie has declined the last 13 weeks and is now at 1.7%, half of where he was earlier.  He is still in 7th place.

Mitt Romney continues to decline as people realize he will not change his mind.  He is now at 1.1% and falls out of the top 10 to 12th place for the first time.

Bernie Sanders becomes only the second Democrat to announce his candidacy and is now in 42nd place at 0.5%.

Rubio and Kasich Have Big Moves Up, Clinton and Webb Continue To Climb, and Bush and Warren See Drop

Hillary Clinton continues climb up 0.3% to 41.4%. That is the 5th straight week she has increased her odds.  The increase comes at the expense of other Democratic candidates as the overall odds of the Democrats keeping control of the White House remained at 56.5%.

The biggest drop for the Democrats came from Elizabeth Warren who lost 0.1% but is still the top contender to Clinton at 2.2%, comfortable in 6th place overall.

On the Republican side Jeb Bush’s odds declined by 0.2% to 11.2%.  That is the 3rd straight decline for Bush.  He remains comfortably in 2nd place.

Marco Rubio has been closing that gap on him.  Rubio was up 0.5% to 5.2%.  He has cut the gap by 1.6% over the last 3 weeks.  He is  the solid # 3 overall.

John Kasich was the other big mover of the week.  He moved from 34th place all the way to 20th place at 0.8% as he inched closer to a 2016 run.

On the Democratic side, Jim Webb continues to rise slowly.  He is now in 15th place.  He was 48th place as late as January.
