Donald Trump’s odds lowest in a month; Could Klobuchar’s calm Midwestern style be her advantage? Jeff Flake wants someone in GOP to challenge Trump; Billionaire Tom Steyer looking more like a candidate

For the second week in a row, Donald Trump’s odds dropped slightly this time from 2.49X to 2.53X.  These are the lowest odds he has had in 5 weeks but well above his average for the cycle of of 2.86X.

Amy Klobuchar  has seen her odds improve in the past few weeks.  She was at 54.4X at in 16th place just four weeks ago.  She has steadily improved since and comes in at 37.9X and in 12th place.  Many think her calm Midwestern style makes her standout from other 2020 candidates.

Jeff Flake announced that he doesn’t think that he will be a 2020 challenger to Trump but believes that somebody from the GOP should challenge him.  His odds improved from 129.9X to 117.3X.  That was enough to jump him from 70th place to 58th place.

One of the most vocal opponents of Trump has been billionaire Tom Steyer.  His ad buys and scheduled townhalls have many thinking he will be running. His odds jumped up from 93.8X to 81.8X, moving him up from 40th place to 31st place.

Trump’s Odds Continue Slow Decline; Clinton’s Book Publicity Hurting her Odds; Speculation about “The Rock” Continues; Klobuchar Increases Profile

Trump’s odds continued their slow decline as his payout increased from 3.39X to 3.46X.  This is the 8th straight week of increases.  His payout 8 weeks ago stood at 2.98X.  The probability of Trump being reelected is now at 17.5%, still higher than the next three candidates combined.

Hillary Clinton continued to be in the headlines as publicity of her book increased.  What also increased is calls from some Democrats to move on.  That has taken a toll on her odds the last few weeks.  Her payout is now at 30.4X down from 24.6X just 6 weeks ago and from its peak of 20.6X in March. The odds suggest a probability of just 2%.

One person who has momentum from Democratic voters is Amy Klobuchar.  Her profile continues to increase as she denies she has any interest in running.  Her payout is now down to 41.2X and she is in 18th place up from last week’s 20th place.

Speculation of Dwayne Johnson running continues every week since the topic first came up on the Tonight Show back in May.  The latest is from former colleague/wrestler Chris Jericho saying he has “no doubt’ that Johnson will run.  His payout decreased this week from 27.6X to 26.6X and he is currently in 10th place ahead of the likes of Hillary Clinton and Paul Ryan.

Trump Maintains Large Lead; Biden and Zuckerberg Continue to be Hot with Launch of PACs; Klobuchar Turns it Around

Donald’s Trump remained fairly flat as his probability saw a slight dip from 20.7% to 20.5%.  The payout remained at 3.0X, flat to last week.  He had a big drop two weeks ago with the announcement on a special counsel but then rebounded last week. He has similar probability as the next four candidates combined.

Joe Biden fueled speculation of a run by launching a PAC. This helped him keep his hot streak with his payout dropping from 21.5X to 20.9X.  That is the lowest payout (highest odds) he has been at.  He has improved over the last 8 weeks .  He began that stretch with a payout of 291X, and has moved from 9th place to the current 5th place.

Another hot name has been Mark Zuckerberg.  A new PAC (that he has nothing to do with) was formed with the goal of convincing the Facebook founder to  run. He moves into the the top 10 from 12th place.  He was in 16th place 5 weeks ago and in 50th place beginning of the year.  His payout has shrunk from over 100X at the beginning of the year to last week’s 32.7X and this week’s 28.9X.

Amy Klobuchar’s odds improved with her payout decreasing from 39.1X to 36.5X.  This was an improvement from her worst week as far as odds. Most think she will run in 2020, and that certainly fits with her spending some time in Iowa a few weeks ago. She is now in 16th place and has ranged between 12th place back in January and 19th place last week.
